This is a very scarce original copy of this exploration book, which was published in 1909 by John Murray. To the extent of my knowledge, this is one of only three copies for sale online. Illustrated with numerous black and white drawings inline, and with a striking frontispiece.The book is in Very Good condition overall. Red leather hardback covers, with gilt illustration and title to front board, and gilt title to spine. All page edges gilt. Scuffs and wear to leather. Ink stain to top edge, affecting very top of prelims only, and another ink stain to top of spine. Rubbing to top and tail of spine. Front board riding forward, and hinge between frontispiece and title page fully cracked. Pulling to index also, but generally very tight nonetheless. Pages generally immaculate, with just some very light foxing to the title page. All in all, a lovely copy. 14.5cm x 10.5cm. 463 pages + roughly 40 blank pages for notes, with some uncut leaves here.
