External dimensions 59 × 50 mm; in fine condition. Peake 3887 ('Pegasus', 1933). The small plate is numbered (12/15) and signed in pencil by Thake in the bottom margin. Offered together with a handwritten list of recipients of this bookplate ('Hassell Prints of Thake'). Most of the names are dated January 1934. Provenance: H.B. (Harry) Muir (1909-1992), bookseller, publisher and bookplate collector; by descent. [2 items].

External dimensions 90 × 75 mm and 80 × 100 mm, respectively; in fine condition. The bookplate for Marcie Muir is by Astra Lacis (Peake 3891). The bookplate for Kerry White is not in Peake, but the initials 'B.G.' in the plate confirm what the artwork immediately suggests - the artist is Bob Graham, the 'prolific and multi-award winning writer and illustrator of children's books' (Lu Rees Archives, The Library, University of Canberra). He was an artist and arts educator, not least the first principal of the Adelaide School of Arts. Lucy Birks was a daughter-in-law of Charles Birks of the eponymous Adelaide department store (founded in 1876, it merged with David Jones in 1954). Provenance: H.B.
