Forest Hills, NY: Forest Hills Publishing Company, 1944. Hardcover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Original price of $2.50 still present on the front flap. Jacket is stained and worn with corners and spine edges chipped and torn. Pages are lightly toned due to age and there is some foxing and brown spots present, with the worst being on the end pages. Signed by the author on a award bookplate stating this book had been awarded as a prize (to Walter J. Filling) for a splendid talk on " How to Conquer Worry". No other handwriting noted.

Somerset (PA): Friedrich Goeb, 1814. Hardcover. Poor. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, one of the earliest, if not the first, printing of just the New Testament in early America. The title page states "Die erste Auflage", which translates to "The first Edition". Book is in very rough shape, though all original. The leather is dry and hard, like tree bark, and has chipped and cracked in numerous places. There is also remnants of paper stuck to the boards, mainly on the front. The original label is still on the spine, though very darkened. The book is still in one piece, though page 167 has a diamond shaped hole and page 170 is only partially there. Pages are quite dark and due to age along with moderate to heavy foxing and all have a wave to them. The very last page has the original owner's signature and there is a bit of cryptic handwriting on the following blank end page. Very rare to find in the original binding as…

There is a small BB size hole in the cloth on the spine area, upper left near where the gilt design starts. The interior binding at the front board is starting to crack in the rear board is completely open to the webbing. Despite those two flaws the remaining binding of the text pages is good and tight. Paper is lightly toned due to age and there is some spotting and foxing present though the pages themselves did not look like they were used much. Also found between the pages is the original publishers advertising card listing other titles, this item is included with the book.
