This is an uncommon early edition of this famous handbook, which was published by Hill Publishing Co. in 1918. Thumb-tabbed, with all edges gilt. The book is in Very Good condition overall. Red painted cloth boards, with gilt tiling to front board and spine. Endbands, thumb-tabbing, and all edges gilt. Illustrated with technical diagrams throughout. Wear to board edges and corners, and cracks to paint of spine. Small stains to rear board. Pulling heavily to centre, with an internal rip to p. 1007 (affecting ~ten words; see listing image 9). A nicely preserved copy otherwise. Two ownership plates to prelims. 17cm x 10.5cm. 1984 pages.
