Description:
London: Macmillan, 1970. FIRST EDITION. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.223; [1]. Publisher's brown cloth, gilt titles to spine, in pictorial dust-jacket designed by Mike Cook. Some spotting to endpapers and top edge, a few pages creased from being turn over. Price clipped dust-jacket shows well with just some slight fading to spine and some creasing to the top and bottom edges. Very good. From the blurb; "Have we reached the stage where we can accept a coloured squire, Anne Abbott delves into the deep roots of our native snobbery in Baa Baa Black Sheep, her first novel... set in an unspecified part of rural England which appears to have missed not only the twentieth century but the nineteenth as well.

Description:
London: Edward Arnold, 1912. [Military History/Travel] FIRST EDITION, first impression. Large octavo (23 x 16cm), pp.333 [11]. Illustrated throughout with photographic plates. Publisher's green cloth pictorially blocked in black and gilt, edges untrimmed. With the green printed dust-jacket priced at 15s. Edges slightly dusty, spine of jacket a touch sunned with a few tiny nicks at crown. A lovely fine copy. Rare in jacket, with no copy recorded as sold at auction. Describes the Italo-Turkish campaign of 1911-12 in which the invading Italian forces tried unsuccessfully to conquer Libya. This book covers the military moves of both sides, although its sympathy lies with the defending Arab troops for whom the conflict was indeed a 'Holy War'.

London: Pan Books, 1984. [Science-Fiction Satire] FIRST EDITION, first impression. Octavo (22 x 14cm). pp.191 [1]. Publisher's black cloth with titles in silver to spine. With the black dust jacket designed by Gary Day-Ellison, with holographic panel to front cover, priced at £6.95. A crisp, clean copy showing minor handling to jacket. Near fine. The title is the final message from the dolphins to mankind, which was misinterpreted as a surprisingly sophisticated attempt to do a double-backward somersault through a hoop while whistling the "Star Spangled Banner." Less a space travel, and more a time travel narrative, which focuses primarily on the romance between Arthur Dent and Fenchurch, So Long is the fourth book in the Hitch-Hiker's Guide trilogy of five parts.
