Eton College: Williams & Son 1876 Consisting of Short Memoirs of the More Eminent ton Men. HB, 1st ED, xiv, 481pp, 11 of 12 steel engravings designed and executed by Cavalier Gabrielli, (Marquis of Cornwallis not present). Blue cloth, black design to front board, gilt lettering to spine. Spine darkened, heavily chipped to ends, two 1cm tears to top of spine folds. Rubbed to all edges with slight loss of cloth to corners, darkened to all edges. Internally, glue mark to front pastedown where bookplate previously removed. A Good copy.

Paperback book : white paper wrappers, stapled, lettered to front and back in black with celtic decorative birders and initial. 16pp. On the current political situation in Ireland, from a moderate republican viewpoint, including relations with Britain, recent atrocities and the prospect of independence. AE was the title used by George Russell. Good+ condition: light handling wear and a few marks to wrappers, with vertical crease from folding, a few pencil marginal notes to text which are relevant. A new edition corrected. 449 pages with engraved frontispiece and nine other plates, all present. a nice complete copy of this scarce cookery volume prepared by one of the well know cookery experts of her day. The first page is for the use of the mistress of the family and begins " In every rank, those deserve the greatest praise , who best aquit themselves of the duties which their station requires" This copy has been rebound in dark green covers with gilt title to spine , new end-papers with inscription by a previous owner dated 1926 possibly when it was rebound, Contents are generally clean with some odd foxing spots and light wear to page and plate edges. Includes Appendix with new recipes. A book intended for the improvement of the cooking skills of servants. Fair only condition overall. The spine has split so the book is in two sections, the front board is almost detached, and the covers are very worn and abraded. The pages are generally clean, some are tanned, and there are various usage marks ; the first 100 or so have a brown stain to the lower margins; the closed edges are browned;there are no prelims before the title page , The book starts with the title page. Blue paper-covered boards, lettered in white and black, and with image of woman preparing food to front in black, white and blue. Fry's Cocoa advert to back cover. 81pp plus publisher's catalogue; trade adverts inside front cover and on flyleaf. Preface then a simple recipe per day of the year for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. A Fair copy. The pages are good, mostly clean wirh some light marks to margins, and browned closed edges; the binding is holding though a little slack; the covers are worn spine strip cracked with small losses.
