ORIENT which pioneered a new shipping route via the Cape of Good Hope; popularily called the "cooL weather route"; extensive details on the ship herself, the voyage, excepts from a passenger's diary etc.; profusely illustrated with b & w photos and renderings.

Good. 403 pp; insightds into the condition, value and vicissitudes of the light-vessels, or floating lighthouses which guard the shores of the United Kingdom; with 5 fullpage illustrations; half-title page is mostly torn out, leaving small strip at gutter that is stuck to ffep due to moisture; moisture staining throughout; this is confined to margins but does slightly intrude on text block on numerous pages; binding tight, front hinge split; rear hinge intact; interior pages free of markes; boards noticeable scuffed and worn.
