There is moderate wear to the covers (they appear to be leather on board) and chipping along the spine. The pages are in excellent condition. Only slight tonal aging, no tears, foxing (except for slight foxing on title page and end papers) or blemishes. Small "Ascension Academy" is stamped on the second endpaper, the title page and the bottom of page 45. The number 1096 is inked near the top on the verso of the title page. There is a book plate on the inside front cover. The first fly-leaf page is loose. Text is in English.

Both covers are solid, binding is tight, pages are un-marked , clear and un-torn. We could not find any foxing. There is shelf wear to the covers. There is about a half inch piece of the spine leather covering missing at the top of the spine, and a piece about 1.5" loose at the bottom of the pine. A small stamped "Ascension Library" is one the first endpaper, the title page and the bottom of page 45. The number 1094 is inked on the verso of the title page. Covers are whole and pages are clear and unblemished; only very light foxing on the fly-leaf and title pages. No tears or marks. The Pull-out chart after page 104 is in excellent shape. The binding inside the covers is weak. There is some wear on the cover edges and chipping along the spine. A small "Ascension Academy" has been stamped stamped on the first and last endpaper, the title page, and at the bottom of page 45. The number 1098 has been inked on the verso of the title page. There is a book plate on the inside front cover. .Text is in Latin.

Hundreds of high quality illustrations, many in color and many full page. Only apparent fault in the book is the gift dedication at the top of the first fly-leaf page The dj has smudging at the top of the front and very a very slight wear at the top flront corner.

The unclpeed dj (not showing a price), encased in a mylar transparent cover) has a small gouge at the top front corner of the front flap and moderate wear at the corners and top and bottom of the spine.

Lettering on the cover spine is a bit faded and darkened near bottom. Otherwise, we could not find any significant faults. Pages are all clear, without foxing, tears or marks although age toned at edges; The fold-out map and chart are in 'like new' condition. This is a very good copy of the 1920 editon, illustrated by Arthur Rackham. The cover is in virtually new condition, except for light wear at he top and bottom of the spine. A bokplate has been pasted on the verso of the first flyleaf page. The cover is protected by a hard cellophane cover. The cord binding is tight, althoufh the Rackham illustration between pages 72 and 73 is loose. There is serious foxing on thefive introudcutory pages (Contents, list of illustrationa,title page). However the foxing does not extend to the three Rackham illustration within these pages. The text pages are clean, clear, with very few foxed pages. all of the 23 illustrations are in excellent condition. A portrait of J. M. Barrie has been inserted between the cover and first flyleaf page.
