Description:
Debussy's sole completed opera was given its premiere at Paris' Opera Comique on April 30, 1902. It was the culmination of an eight-year effort on the composer's part. Though not an immediate sensation like Puccini's "Madame Butterfly" two years later in Milan, the five-act lyric drama, after the identically titled play by Maeterlinck, enjoyed a successful run in the first two decades of the 20th century. Debussy's masterpiece of orchestral color is presented in a new, digitally-enhanced reprint of the vocal score first issued by E. Fromont, Paris, in 1904 which was corrected, revised and reissued by Durand in 1907. In contrast so many of the on-demand scores now available, this one comes with all the pages and the images have been thoroughly checked to make sure it is readable, is beautifully printed on off-white stock with a quality cover.

Description:
Hiawatha's Wedding Feast was the first major success enjoyed by Coleridge-Taylor. It was commissioned by the London publisher Novello after Edward Elgar recommended the young Afro-English composer to them following the premiere of his Ballade in A minor at the Three Choirs Festival in Birmingham. The new work was completed fast and the vocal score was in print months before the premiere, with sales so brisk Novello commissioned a subsequent cantata. The premiere itself was a major event, given in London on 11 November 1898 under the baton of the composer's teacher Charles Villiers Stanford. This new vocal score is an enhanced facsimile of re-engraved Novello edition from the 1920s which has been scaled to a larger, more readable format. Unlike so many of the on-demand scores now available, this one comes with all the pages and the images have been thoroughly checked to make sure it is readable, is beautifully printed on off-white stock with a quality cover.SATB chorus / Piano ; ISMN: 979-0-58021-018-0

Description:
This publication offers a source-critical edition of Mozart's fragmentary "Requiem" as well as an alternative to the traditional Süßmayr version. It makes it possible to perform 1) the fragment, identified in print in both the score and the parts, 2) the authentic sections left incomplete by Mozart, now in a stylistically appropriate orchestration, and 3) those sections missing entirely in the fragment, newly added in Mozart's idiom taking into account historical additions by Süßmayr and Eybler. When completing the fragment, the editor drew on comprehensive comparative and analytical studies of Mozart's church style and compositional workmanship. The influence of Handel and Bach manifested in his final years, particularly in the "Requiem" fragment, is taken into account in those sections requiring completion or fresh composition.
At two points performers may choose between alternative movements or sections. Proceeding from Süßmayr's historical completion, two divergent options cannot be weighed… Read More
