Description:
London: Heath Cranton / Maskew Miller. London, Heath Cranton / Maskew Miller, n.d. [1921]. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A very good copy. Colonial issue. A fairly unusual mixture of sf tropes including reincarnation, many worlds and apocalyptic destruction. In Blieler. Mason was a South African astronomer. The present title appears to be a simultaneous publication in London and Cape Town. The book's spine bears the name of both publishers, with the block being printed in the UK. No known priority between the UK issue and the Colonial issue. The jacket's a little worn and torn, with a couple of 25mm tears, some dints to the lower edge, some staining to the spine. A little bumping to the tips, but generally a nice copy. [10614, Hyraxia Books]. n.d. [1921] . Very Good. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1921.

Description:
London: Henry Colburn and Richard Bentley. London, Henry Colburn and Richard Bentley, 1832. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good set. Three volumes, complete. A collection of 13 short tales, many more like novellas. A number of the tales are set way back in history, more than 500 years before the publication. A little known collection, with more than a touch of the gothic to it in parts and certainly supernatural elements. "Scarcely had the squire quitted his place by the side of his master, when the moon, hitherto obscured behind dark clouds, burst forth in all her brilliancy, and discovered to the astonished eyes of our knight of Flanders a living female figure clothed in black standing immediately before him." - that from The Curse of the Black Lady. Tales include The Legends of the Wolf's Brun, A Year of Joy (turns out not to be so easy), The Lady of the Cold Kisses (a supernatural tale) and, The Forfeit Hand. Bound in later full calf, spines and edges rubbed but… Read More

Description:
Philadelphia: Lippincott. Philadelphia, Lippincott, 1897. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A very good copy. An important collection of 14 short works of horror / weird fiction. His Unconquerable Enemy, set in India, follows a tortured and dismembered anti-hero, Neranya, and his superhuman feat of escape. In The Monster Maker, a scientist creates a monster - think The Thing - that becomes uncontrollable, leading to chaos and destruction. The Permanent Stiletto follows a man who teeters on the edge of death due to a knife lodged in his aorta. A superb collection, and a highlight of the genre. A slight lean, some bumping and wear to the tips, some offsetting. [10363, Hyraxia Books]. . Very Good. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1897.

Appears to be an historic ghost story - though don't quote me on that Howieson was a minor historical figure from the 17th Century. Description:
London: George Allen & Unwin. London, George Allen & Unwin, 1948. Proof. Paperback. A good copy. Presumed pre-publication copy. The book was first published in English by Bles in 1925, this is the subsequent 1948 printing which had been retitled. As to whether this is a proof or not it's hard to say, it's certainly not the earliest state of pre-publication state from this edition as it had been titled An Explosive Phantasy on an earlier state. The book bears the publisher's stamp to the title. Typed spine label. This could quite easily be just an unbound copy that the publishers kept for their archive - odd to not have an upper wrap, but this could've just been lost. A bit worn, the picture is the best descriptor. [9555, Hyraxia Books]. . Good. Paperback. Proof. 1948.
