Tooled blue covers. This is a classic in African exploration and hunting, as attested to by the number of reprinting's it has seen. Some foxing inside covers to title pages, but none farther inside. In 1960 this set was donated to the California Academy of Sciences. So marked and with their withdrawn rubber stamp. Lower part of spines cut where the Academy numbers were. There are no other markings, no card pockets were ever in them. Otherwise the covers are very good, interiors white and clean. This 1st ed is very scarce. 2 volumes $175.
