A British ex-pat, the publisher, Chrles Carrington, was notorious for producing legitimate literary works to mask his activities making erotica and pornography. Bound in publisher's navy blue cloth with decorative blind-stamped borders and title in gilt on spine. This is the Trade Edition printed on "Van Gelder azure hand-made paper". There was a De Luxe Edition of 30 copies printed on "Real Imperial Japan Paper". Square, tight and clean throughout with minor rubbing to surface and edges. Tiny tear at the bottom front hinge. Neat ownership inscription on front paste-down. A sharp collectable copy.
