Description:
First Edition of Famous World War I play with scarce original dust jacket, completely intact!
Journey's End by R.C. Sherriff Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Brentano's 1929. Fine- in Near Fine++ Dust Jacket. $2.00 cover price present, no indication of later printings on copyright page indicating a first printing. Possibly the best copy available with an outstanding original dust jacket. Book itself is clean, boards clean, pages nice, slight shelf-wear and aging, to be expected. Dust Jacket is complete, NO Major tears and NO major chips, just slight fraying to top and bottom of the spine, and slight nicking to corners, and a tiny circular rubbing to the front bottom edge, else just about as nice as you could ask for! (Most buyers in the 1920's and 1930's threw away the dust jacket off of books, making most dust jackets produced prior to World War II very scarce.) Simultaneously released in the UK by Gollancz the same year.
NOTE: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers.… Read More

Description:
The Wheels of If by L. Sprague de Camp Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Shasta Press 1949. Classic SF/Fantasy. $3.00 cover price intact, wrap-around Hannes Bok dust jacket art.
Just about Fine in Near Fine Dust Jacket. Book is near perfect, straight corners, clean pages, binding solid, tiniest hint of age-toning to the text block, very minimal. Dust jacket is essentially just about all there, its main shortcoming some fraying to the bottom edge at the spine, some edge-wear at the top of the spine, and a little bit of toning to the spine. Overall still a nice copy of an uncommon book especially with the Bok dust jacket art. The fraying to the bottom spine reduces the price by $100+. Would be priced closer to $300 if the dust jacket were near-perfect.NOTE: All books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers.

Description:
Who Goes There? Seven Tales of Science Fiction by John W. Campbell Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Shasta Press 1948. $3.00 cover price intact. Cover art by Hannes Bok including the back which is unusual for genre fiction prior to circa 1960, regarded as one of Bok's best efforts.
Fine in Fine- Dust Jacket. A fine book with only the typical age-toning and a bookseller sticker on the back board which was common with books being sold prior to circa 1960. Clothed in one of the best original jackets I've seen for this book. NO tears and NO chips. Very tiny nicks to the corners, with just a hint of edge-wear here and there, else a spectacular copy of one of the classics of science fiction.
"Who Goes There?", the title story of this collection, was originally published in 1938 in Astounding Science Fiction under the pen name Don A. Stuart. The title story is its first appearance in hardcover.
The title story is also the basis for several feature films. The first entitled "The Thing From Another… Read More

The Publishing Phenomenon of 2010! Mark Twain's Autobiography, 100 years in the making. Mark Twain is the author of the Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, Life on the Mississippi, etc.
The Autobiography of Mark Twain The Complete and Authoritative Edition Volume 1 edited by Harriet Elinor Smith (volumes 2 and 3 are not yet published) Hardcover First Edition - First Prinitng University of California Press 2010 (part of the Mark Twain Project). Huge tome at 736 pages. Fine in Fine Dustjacket. A beautiful copy with just a hint of tenderness to the back upper corner.
This book is already in double-digit printings. I expect as the series continues, the price for a first printing will continue to rise.
Twain first started to compose an autobiography in 1870, but proceeded fitfully, abandoning the work and returning to it as the mood took him. In a 1904 letter to William Dean Howells, he wrote: "I've struck it! And I will give it away—to you. You will never know how much enjoyment you have lost… Read More
