Full leather bound, black label w/ bright gilt lettering on spine, engraved frontispiece with tissue-guard. Edges chipped, spine scuffed. Endpapers soiled, moderate foxing throughout, binding is tight and sound.

New York: L. Nichols & Co. For Evert Duyckinck, 1801. Third American Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 359pp. Contemporary calf, leather spine label, text is tanned and lightly foxed throughout, endpapers, frontispiece and title page partially dampstained, clean tears to 4 or 5 pages with no loss of text. Despite the above shortcomings, the text is complete and very readable, and the binding is tight. Voyage and adventures as told by the author in a series of letters to his son.

Washington: 19th Congress House of Representatives, 1826. Soft cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. pp. Disbound, pages tanned, and otherwise unmarked. Report on the feasability "of making a survey of a canal route from Canton to Weymouth, Massachusetts for the purpose of ascertaining the practicability of uniting the waters of Boston Harbor with the Naraganset Bay.

Marseilles: Ville De Marseilles, 1957. Soft cover. Good. Unpaginated 62 pp. Text is in French. Cover is abraded and scuffed, spine has a small cut, contents are clean. INCLUDED is an Exposition Van Gogh Museé Cantini POSTER measuring 12 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches (2 x 25cm), featuring a small print of a Van Gogh painting. Poster is mildly toned and is folded horizontilly for enclosure in the catalog.

Pierre Seghers Éditeur, 1945. Limited . Soft cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. André Warnod. Unpaginated, French languaage. Card stock wraps. Couverture souple, très bon état. Numéro 546 de 625 exemplaires. Pprinted on rag paper by Papeteries Johannot à Annonay, of which this is number 546. Black and white illustrations by Warnod. Cover and contents are in very nice condition, protected by the original glassine jacket still present.

London: Foulis, 1926. Hardcover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 48pp+12 illustrations. Grey paper over boards, linen-backed spine, paper labels to cover and spine. Boards are faded at edges, a small indentation to top and to bottom of front board (probably was tied tightly in a bundle). Preliminary pages are foxed and rest of contents are age-toned but unmarked. There are 12 charming color illustrations teaching children morals -- Charitable Louisa, Envy, Politeness, Offensive Manners, etc. Scarce dustjacket is soiled, darkened at spine and edges, worn, chipped and missing a 1" piece at top of spine. Spine has an ink smudge and a small label with a number. Dustjacket has the same illustration as the frontispiece pasted to front.

Cambridge: Harvard College, 1886. Soft cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 127-168p, plus ads. Printed wraps. Large stain to right margin of front cover, other light soiling, surprisingly, the contents are clean and pages are unopened. Contributions by C.P. Parker, A.B. Houghton, George Santayana, and H.G. Bruce.

Hartford: Lincoln and Gleason, 1806. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 330pp. Contemporary calf, leather label gilt lettered. From teh first London edition, published in 1805. Moderate wear to boards, spine covering is chipped at head and tail (inch triangle missng at head), bit of insecting to lower rear board and last page edges. Endpapers are stained and contents tanned, very old ex-library identification (Foster Manton Library) on title page and several other page margins. Despite these deficiencies, the binding is very tight, and the book is insurprisingly sound and readable condition.

London: Maxton Publishers, Inc., 1947. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Marjorie Collison. Unpaginated. Pictorial paper over boards. Both volumes very good, mildly age-toned. Dust jackets light wear and tiny tears to edges spine lightly worn. These versions were adapted for young readers by Roselle Ross. Nice set.

Willy Pogany. 192pp. Violet cloth, gilt lettering and decoration, color llustrated endpapers. Cover nearly unworn, spine is faded and lettering barely readable, several small holes in front endpaper evidently from bookplate removal, inscription on verso, text is mildly age-toned but clean and unmarked, binding is tight. Scarce dust jacket is missing a 2 1/2 inch piece from lower spine and several smaller pieces from top edge. Wonderful pen and ink drawings by Pogany throughout text.

Dust jacket illustrated by Charles A. Federer.
