All have titles stamped in gilt on spine. The cloth of volume III has a spot of sun bleaching. Each volume has a small prior retailer's sticker affixed to the front pastedown. Mild rubbing to dust jackets. Hundreds of Northern Hemisphere butterfly species are beautifully illustrated and carefully labeled. D' Abrera founded Hill House Press with his wife in 1982, primarily as a vehicle to publish his own work. The innovative, oversized style of D' Abrera's guides has been praised by both professional entomologists and amateur butterfly and moth enthusiasts.

1897. First edition. Paperback. Good. 98pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Pale blue and black illustrated wraps. The wraps are moisture stained, more so the rear wrap. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the verso of the front wrap. The title is written in pen on the spine, and there is a 1" loss from the paper at the foot of the spine. The bottom edges of the preliminary pages are lightly moisture stained. Flake 2641a. With a conversion to Mormonism story, and a tale of wife stealing by Brigham Young.

1888. Author's Edition. Hardcover. Good. 134pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Black pebbled cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the front cover, and blind stamped decorative borders on the covers. Ex-library, with the usual library markings. The cloth at the head of the spine is frayed. The underlying boards are just beginning to peek through at the corners. The pages are clean. With two fold-out plates at the front and two at the rear. Ellsworth Daggett helped develop irrigation for Daggett County. This was a Paper Presented to the American Institute of Mining Engineers, at the Boston Meeting, February, 1888.

Very good. The spine is ever so slightly rolled back. In a very good dust jacket. Lightly rubbed. The front panel has a couple of thin light marks. The longest mark is 1 inch long. There is a 1/2 inch closed tear in the top edge of the rear panel. There is a large price sticker stain on the rear panel that measures 3 and 1/2 inches wide by 1 inch tall. The jacket also has very minor soiling. Volume Fifteen in the Religious Studies Center Monograph Series.

Original dust jacket has tearing and scuffing along edges and a small [1 mm] hole on front panel. A stated first edition copy of the respected guide to Utah history with a forword by Gail Martin. Part of the American Guide Series. This was Morgan's first full-scale book. Though others contributed to the work Morgan did such significant editing and rewriting before publication that much of the work is de facto his own. It had the well deserved reputation of being one of the best volumes in the series. The quality of the work assumes added significance when it is noted that the book was completed and published before Morgan's twenty-seventh birthday without the benefit of academic training in historical methodology. - Saunders 13.

There are several short closed tears in the paper of the spine. The spine also has a thin 1 inch long pen mark. There is a small light stain on the bottom right corner of the text block. Fragile binding. Pp. 297-304 are detached, but present. There is occasional highlighting. Contents include Walkar Indian War, History of Cedar City, Settlements of Beaver and Panguitch, Arizona Missions, and more.

The cloth is frayed at the edges (more so the spine ends), and the underlying boards are exposed occasionally along the edges. There is a small spot on the front board, and there is a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endpaper. The text block is cracked several times. Plate 9 is darkened. All plates are present. Illustrated by Maps of the Islands; a Bathymetric Map of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans; and Views of Cones, Craters, a Lava-Cascade, a Lava-Fountain, Etc.
