Inner boards with triple line border decorated in gilt with two decorative rolls and one ruled line and corner devices. Off-white silk patterned paper endpapers. Top edge gilt. A lovely copy in a beautiful early fine leather binding.

The Nonesuch Press. London. No Date. 1927. FIRST EDITION. Large oblong 8vo. (10.2 x 7.7 inches). Finely illustrated with line drawing on the title page and 20 full page colour lithographs by Elinor Darwin accompanying the verses of Bernard Darwin. Original beige paper covered boards with wave, fish and border decorations and reproduction of one of the book's illustrations in blue on front cover. A very good, bright and clean copy with small amount of chipping to the top of the spine and minimal rubbing and bumping to the extremities.

Red title label, gilt. Compartments with gilt lettering, ruled lines and decoration. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed. Original cloth front board, with Falcon design in black, and decorative spine bound in at the rear. A fine copy in fine and attractive leather binding.

(7.7 x 5.4 inches). viii,268pp. A bright clean copy internally in the publishers original grey cloth with Falcon design in black to the front board, within a single black ruled line border. Blue and black lettering and symmetrical design to the spine. Publishers Borzoi books logo on rear board in black. Cloth a little toned and faint stain to the bottom of the front board. The spine is slightly darkened but overall a very good copy of this classic detective novel, featuring Hammett's San Francisco private detective Sam Spade.

Original binding of quarter brown morocco, spine with two raised bands and gilt lettering and front leather panel with gilt stamped Tartar on horse back. Boards with brown cloth. Bound by Evans of Croydon.Decorative endpapers. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Fine copy in very good original dustwrapper with some minor marking to spine but is overall very good indeed. A lovely copy.:

One of 200 copies, from a total edition of 700 for England and America, on hand made paper and with the plates printed as proofs on Japanese Vellum. Each of these 200 special copies has an original print of the etching "The Lion and the Unicorn" , signed by Cameron, as the frontis and is numbered and initialed by the publishers. The etching was not issued separately. Illustrated throughout with 434 etchings, each with the original measurements, date of the plate, number printed and other general notes by Frank Rinder. Some occasasional light offsetting from the plates to the text pages opposite but generally it is faint where it occurs. Endpapers a bit browned but overall a very good clean and tidy copy in the publishers original delux binding of beige cloth on the boards with a white vellum spine, lettered and ruled in gilt. Llewelyn died shortly after this book was published while returning home after a book signing, so copies signed by him are scarce. Fully illustrated throughout. Lovely bright copy in publishers full colour wraps(the book was also issued at the same time in hardback form, but only 1000 copies were bound). A nice item of Bondiana which includes a comprehensive list of Q`s gadgetry from each film.

American Notes & Pictures from Italy are finely illustrated with eighteen engravings, some full page, by Frost and Thomson, The Uncomercial Traveller with twenty six by Dalziel. Attractive early leather binding of half black calf. Spine with raised bands, each with gilt floral design. Compartments ruled in gilt and decorated with blind stamped chain borders and floral centre tool. Red and olive morocco labels, ruled and lettered in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Tan endpapers. Some offsetting to both free endpapers, probably a reaction to the glue used in the paste-downs. All edges speckled. Some minor rubbing to extremities and scratching to the leather of the two bottom outer board corner pieces, but overall this is a lovely copy in a fine Victorian binding.

Fully illustrated throughout with drawings, paintings and photographs, these 2 numbers contain original full lithographs by Chagall, Miro, Rattner, Klee, Matisse & Derain. The two issues have been bound into one hardbound volume and the binding has been beautifully hand painted, in acrylic and oils, with an abstract design, including the volume title, to both the boards and the spine by noted Neo-Expressionist American painter Gaylen Hansen. Some rubbing to the edges and one split in the front board (without loss) but generally in very good condition.Included with the volume is a fine hardback copy of the fully illustrated book issued in 2007 to accompany the retrospective exhibition "Gaylen Hansen: Three decades of Paintings" at the Seattle Art Museum (October 2007 - January 2008) and Salt Lake City Art Center (February - April 2008). :.

A fine and bright copy in publishers grey/green paper covered boards with a colour onlay to the front panel, above a simple ruled design. Clogs and Arrow-joined hearts within the lines and both the spine and front panel are lettered, all in white. Fine. A rare suvivor in such wonderful condition.:

NP. ND. Circa 1890. FINELY BOUND BLANK BOOK. (6.1 x 4.6 inches). Circa 150 blank leaves of laid paper. First five pages have neat hand written poems and there is a neat four line inscription, dated 1892, to the front blank endpaper, otherwise clean and unmarked throughout. Full dark green crushed morocco binding by (or possibly for, although the British Library lists one of the bindings in its collection as being bound by Dreyfous) Dreyfous of London, and with their paper label to one of the blank endpapers. Spine with raised bands, the compartments ruled and decorated in gilt. Both boards with decorative gilt borders and elaborate gilt design within. Double gilt ruled lines to the board edges. Gilt inner dentelles around red silk endpapers. All edges gilt. Spine faded and a little rubbed and there is one small hole to one hinge but still a very attractive binding, housed in a morocco slip case with marbled inner papers. Spine with five raised bands. Title label ruled and lettered in gilt. Blind tooling around the lighter tan panels on both boards. A little rubbing to the edges and splitting to the very top and bottom of the hinges only, with both boards still firmly attached. A very good copy in a lovely mid 18th century binding. ----- Collation: lvi (including publishers advert leaf), (i errata leaf, i blank), 517pp, (1 blank), 82pp ( The two sermons have separate title pages and a separate sequence of pagination; the register is continuous. 'Divine predestination' is of the sixth edition and 'A sermon on the fall of man' is of the second edition, (24pp Index).

Each plate covered with printed tissue paper guard. Finely bound in early full white vellum binding. Spine with elaborate gilt tooling and red morocco label, lettered and decorated in gilt. Front board lettered in dark brown in English and Arabic and with decorative outer corners in brown, within gilt ruled lines. Marbled endpapers printed in gold and brown on white paper. Etched illustrated bookplate, dated 1931, to the front pastedown. Some toning to the vellum but overall a very good and attractive copy of this beautiful book.
