The book is tightly enough bound that the two pages where the text describing the charming illustrations that spans a two-page spread is partially buried in the gutter. Does not look like the pages have been glued - could have been a binding error. Yellowing pages with foxing but a good reading copy of a scarce title. Author illustrated many books and this is one of the few she wrote and illustrated. Story of a man who lives in a shack at the end of town. Originally published in leading newspapers. Travels and adventures of two bears who share last name as the President Roosevelt. Beautifully illustrated in b/w throughout with 16 full page color illustrations - all are present but the frontispiece was rebound at page 74. Nice copy of scarce title in hardcover..
