Amsterdam: Querdio Verlag, 1934. First Edition. Used; Like New/Used; Like New. German edition of "Mein Weltbild" or "The World As I See It," signed and inscribed by Einstein on the front free endpaper, in German (translated): "Two years after the Fall of the German Goyim. Kindly granted / Albert Einstein 1935." The recipient's name has been clipped out. Several diagrams and tables throughout. Black cloth-covered boards with gilt titling on the front cover. Printed in German. With light wear and dampstaining to the covers. Slightly cocked. Light toning and foxing throughout internal pages and edges. Boldly signed.Einstein's inscription being dated 1935 is a patent reference to Hitler's seizure of power in 1933, and his use of the term "Sündenfall" meaning "the Fall of Adam" or the "Fall of man", referencing Genesis, chapters 1-3 in which Adam and Eve went from innocence to guilty disobedience, supports this. "Goyim" is technically a disparaging Yiddish and Hebrew term for non-Jews, though in some…

After a picture was booked into a theatre, the material from press books, 8" x 10" glossy stills, and other paper accessories was fitted together into the artist's conception of the best-selling design and color scheme. The sketch was then used as a pattern or model to complete the finished advertising material. The sketches were…

Description:
Used; Like New/Used; Like New. Two postcard portraits of English provenance of the great Ukrainian-American violinist from his years as a prodigy, one of them signed (in Latin script), with signature sideways along right edge. 5.5 x 3.5 inches (signed card 14.2 x 9 cm, unsigned card 13.7 x 8.8 cm). Signed card with upper right corner slightly bumped; unsigned card with some damage to photo layer from postmark to verso; else in fine condition. Both post cards were actually mailed (in 1905 and 1907). Senders and recipients seem obscure; the "Miss Edith Baird" in Ilford, Essex, to whom the 1907 card is addressed, should not be mistaken for the chess player (1859–1924) of the same name.

Description:
Used; Like New/Used; Like New. Rare dual signed candid shot of the two English composers in formal attire, probably at a reception (Tippett holds a glass of wine), smiling at each other and chatting intimately. No date, but probably from the 1960s. Signed by both. Mounted to rigid backing. 7 x 5.75 inches (17.5 x 14.3 cm). In very good condition. From the collection of English orchestra manager John Charles."The two composers were good friends, with a high level of mutual respect and much in common – both were homosexual, for example, and both were convinced pacifists. Yet while Britten's music since his death is performed around the world almost on a daily basis, performances of Tippett are much rarer. Even A Child of our Time, his most frequently performed work, is one of his earliest major pieces, and is perhaps unrepresentative of his mature style." (William Cole, "Britten and Tippett – Two Kinds of Englishman," Interlude (Hong Kong)), 2013)
