John Neptune was the Governor and Hereditary Chief of the Penobscot Tribe as well as shaman to his people. Eckstorm, in this classic study, traces Neptune's life and his ancestors, discusses the history and politics of the Penobscot tribe and describes their spiritual beliefs. Cream colored wraps with a drawing of a quill pen on front; booklet consists of a single gather sewn through the fold with green cord finished in a bow.
