There is some pulling at gutter at this point as well. Everything is attached but some of the page quadrants appear to be only held on by the binder string. The front pastedown contains a bookplate and original owner's info with the opposite end page having a bit of handwriting on it as well. No other handwriting found in the book. Exterior shows spotting and edge wear and bottom fore edge corners on front and rear show wearing on the cloth. Spine has a vertical indentation. This is an ex-library copy with the front pastedown stamped " WITHDRAWN - Gettysburg College Library". The original price of $5.95 is still present on the front flap. DJ shows only minor bumping in the reason it does not grade as near fine are better is because there is a small tears at the top the rear cover, which measures just over one fourth of an inch. Red cloth boards underneath are good except for one small dark spot near the lower left corner. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, no remainder marks. The pages themselves are clean and bright but the exterior page edges shows some light foxing spots. End pages and pastedowns also show some light toning and spotting, this is due to the book paper reacting with the dust jacket paper over time. Stated first edition on the copyright page.

Boston, MA: James Munroe and Company, 1847. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blindstamped brown cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Exterior shows some spotting and soiling, edges and corners show bumps/wear. Corners are somewhat rounded and spine edges are chipped. The only reason for the low condition grade of fair is because it appears the first front end page is missing. The only reason this is suspected is because the front pastedown is pale yellow and the opposite page is not. The remaining binding is good though pages 65-67 has a little bit of play and you can see it sticking out of the exterior page edge by a fraction. The first two blank front end pages very faint evidence of something written in pencil and then erased, to we can just see faint markings and indentations. The first 70 pages is in Greek in the remaining 129 pages is in English and covers notes and metres. Pages are toned but clean with…

W. E.Scull, 1909. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, red cloth boards with pictorial label on front. Exterior shows some spotting and toning, spine does show some fading, but paper label image on front still has good color. Edges and corners also show bumps/wear. The internal binding does have some issues: both front and rear hinges are cracked at boards and the title page is torn at the hinge area about 2.5 inches from the bottom. The text pages are also toned due to the type of paper used in the frontispiece has some chipping on the lower outside corner. No signatures or bookplates found, no library markings. The second end page does have evidence of something written in the upper corner which was later erased - possibly the original owner's name or perhaps an old store price. The end pages are also a bit brittle with the front end page starting to show some cracking on the underside.
