Grass' autobiographical novel about German politics in the 1960's interlaced with memories of treatment of Jews in Danzig during the Hitler era. Also offered for sale along with the inscribed French trade edition is a hardcover English Version Translated by H. Granville Barker and published by Putnam in 1921. 8vo, green cloth, gilt-stamped. Very good. The first performance of the play occurred at the Vaudeville Theatre in Paris in February 1918. It was translated into English and ran on Broadway during 1920 and 1921.
