New York: G. P. Putman's Sons, 1987. [Thriller] FIRST US EDITION, AUTHOR'S PERSONAL COPIES (two varying copies), signed. Octavo (22 x 15cm), pp.317; [3]. Publisher's hardcover in pictorial dust-wrapper showing the original price of $13.95, the other copy in a simple mock-up jacket of some vintage (likely contemporary) with a typographical design. Each book is autographed by John Gardner to the title page with his manuscript note 'Author's Copy'. Both are in near fine condition.
