German reprint of the 1972 American first issue; presswork on glazed alkaline stock reproduced beautifully, softbound in 11x8 inch color wraps, 271p.; it incorporates the same forward by Joan Nicholson, no new material as far as we can see. There are in this exemplar, however, additional mild factoids in author Gabor's presentation inscription, written in ink on the titlepage, which reads: " for [a Bay Area progressive] - this 1970's bestselling phoenix has risen from the ashes 22 years later! Hardcover. 106p., text in Spanish, illustrated with drawings and b&w photos and 8 color plates tipped-in, first edition in boards with color plate affixed front cover and lightly-worn color pictorial dj. Quite various, with an emphasis on historic costume, stage manner and makeup, and a definite leaning towards buffoonery. An eccentric, self-published item, and evidently author tried his hand at binding this item as well; he's a lousy binder! signatures are loose on their threads, many of which are exposed in gaps between fastenings. Complete, but will need careful handling. Self-published guide to theatrical make-up and costume, available just in time to sport with our new facial recognition machinery.
