Chicago: Harriet Monroe, 1913. 1st edition, original printed and decorated paperwraps (as issued). Published as Vol 1, No 4, this early appearance of POETRY magazine marks the first appearance of "H. D. Imagiste" in their pages. In the contributor notes section, the editor states: " 'H.D., Imagiste,' is an American lady resident abroad, whose idenity is unknown to the editor." Uncommon in any condition, the present copy is remarkably clean and fine with only gentle wear along edges of oversized covers. An important early publication in the H.D. canon. Fine.

Santa Cruz: Kayak Books, 1971. 1st edition, original illustrated paperwraps (as issued). Specially inscribed and signed: "For Helen -- /Amphibiously, / John Haag" on the dedication page. Designed by George Hitchcock using many illustrations from the sea. Haag (1926-2008) studied with Theodore Roethke and James Wright at the University of Washington, and taught English at Penn State University for over 30 years. Minimal sunning to spine, else fine. Uncommon signed.

The uncommon hardcover issue of this collection by Hadas, published during the late 1990s when Wesleyan/University Press of New England was issuing very few cloth copies and thus without jackets. Handsomely designed and printed by Stuart Bradley on heavyweight Arches Johannot paper, a French acid free mouldmade paper. The text is printed in Emerson hand set type, the title in Bernard Modern Roman, and the printer's mark in Goudy Bible. Selected in February, 2007, for inclusion in the permanent collection in the graphic arts department of the American History Museum of the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Easthampton: Warwick Press, 2000. 1st edition, limited (1/50) signed, bound in silk boards. Compiled by Jack Kelleher, who also wrote the introduction. This excellent reference includes a foreword by Richard Wilbur, and elucidating commentary by Hall. Signed by Hall, Kelleher, and specially signed by the book's designer/printer Carol Blinn on the colophon. Very faintly sunned along spine, else quite bright and fine.

Austin: Cold Mountain Press, 1973. 1st edition, postcard/broadside. Specially signed by Hall in black ink. Size: 5 inches high x 6.5 inches wide, printed in brown ink on brown textured stock. Not listed in Kelleher. Published in Cold Mountain Press Poetry Post Card Series I, Number 3. The first line of the poem serves as the title. Uncommon and scarce Hall item.

William B. Ewert, 1988. 1st edition, limited (1/25) signed, broadside. Illustrated with a Christmas scene by J.J. Lankes. Printed in two-color ink on fine paper, 8 inches high x 10 inches wide. Fine.

Concord NH: Ewert, 1986. 1st edition, limited (1/330) printed illustrated paperwraps. Specially signed by Hall in black ink below his printed name. This short essay was issued as a holiday card in a total edition of 330 copies (Kelleher H-6). An uncommon Hall item, and offered here in fine condition.

New Hampshire: Eagle Pond Farm, 1993. 1st edition, privately printed broadside. Specially signed by Hall in black ink below his printed name. Originally issued unsigned, this special broadside of two stanzas from Donald Hall's poem notes the following colophon: "Liam Rector & Tree Swenson announce to their families and friends their marriage, which took place at Eagle Pond Farm in New Hampshire in May of 1993." Handsomely designed and printed in three color ink on tan textured stock, with bottom edge deckled. Overall size: 11 inches high x 7.5 inches wide. Very scarce. (Kelleher G15.) Fine condition.

Concord, N. H.: Ewert, 1992. 1st edition, limited (1/450), illustrated cover. Specially signed by Hall below his printed name in black ink. Handsomely designed and printed at Firefly Press, and issued as a holiday greeting in December, 1992, for private distribution. The illustration is printed from an original woodcut in dark green ink. Uncommon Hall item. Fine condition.

Concord, NH: Ewert, 1983. 1st edition, limited (1/400) folded single sheet, with illustrated cover. Illustrated with a wood engraving by J.J. Lankes, and specially signed by Hall in black ink below the printed poem. Published as a Christmas greeting. Fine condition.

Easthampton: Warwick Press, 2000. 1st edition, original sewn glossy paperwraps (as issued). Compiled and with an introduction by Jack Kelleher, including detailed commentary by Hall that is not published elsewhere. The present copy is specially signed by Hall on the title page. Richard Wilbur has written the Foreward. Now out of print, this excellent bibliography was published in a trade edition of 450 copies, plus 50 deluxe copies specially bound into silk boards and signed. This specially signed copy of the original trade edition is offered in fine "as new" condition.

Grindstone City, MI: Alternative Press, 1978. 1st edition, illustrated broadside card. Issued as a small broadside card, 4 inches high x 6 inches wide, within The Alternative Press #8. "This poem card was handset and handprinted in burnt sienna and light brown in late 1977 by Ken Mikolowski on a 1904 letterpress. The illustration (cabbage) is by Ann Mikolowski. The poem has not been published elsewhere" (Kelleher F48). Specially signed by Hall in black ink above his printed name. Quite scarce. Bright, fine condition.
