Green cloth binding with gilt lettering and decorative blank pattern, rubbed and edgeworn. Book is filled with charts and tables of the entire state for this year. 264 pages.

Boston: Crosby, Nichols, and Company, 1853. Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. Text unmarked and pages intact with some age toning and general aging and wear (foxing, or brown spotting). Cover quite worn along the edge, notably at spine ends where board is showing. Mary L. Ware was born in Boston, and after caring for dying parents and grandparents she married the Rev. Henry Ware, Jr. After he took ill she nursed him as well, while also caring for their children and his children from a previous marriage. He was a professor of divinity at Cambridge University, but had to resign in 1842 because of failing health. Following his death, she returned to the United States, and settled in Milton, Massachusetts, where she tutored three children along with her own. 434 pages.

Natural History of New York, Geological Survey of New York, Paleontology: Volume III, Containing Descriptions and Figures of the Organic Remains of the Lower Helderberg Group and the Oriskany Sandstone, 1855-1859. Part I: Text and Part II: Plates. Both volumes with quite a bit of wear to the decorative cloth covers, including damages spines. Part I has split between front board and spine, resuling in loose portion of upper spine with some chip missing. Part II has spine covering fully detached, but is preserved and present, laid-in inside front cover. Both boards very loose and starting to detach. Gilt decorations and titling to both books is faded and worn but present and legible. Pages and plates with some foxing and edgwear, but fundamentally clean and intact. Some weakness overall to sewn bindings, but still sound. 532 pages (part I) 120 plates (part II). Please see images.
