(7.7 x 5.4 inches). 336pp. No publisher on title page, just the date year printed on the verso and a stuck in paper label of Caves Book Co. on rear blank free endpaper. The title page has the title, author name and blurb 'at this point, it looked like curtains for james bond; he was skimping on his work, gambling, wenching, and on the edge of becoming a security risk' (sic). Blue cloth binding with silver lettering to the spine. Publishers sewn-in blue silk bookmark. The dustwrapper is printed in blue to the front panel, showing Bond holding his gun, between lettering and a target design. Spine lettered in blue. No other printing to the wrapper. ----- A rare curiosity.

Some offsetting to the half title page and a few minor spots to a couple of pages otherwise internally this is a very clean copy throughout. Publishers original burgundy cloth binding with gilt stamped illustration showing Christopher Robin playing with a toy train on front board, within a gilt ruled border, and Pooh and Piglet at a tikit office on the rear. Top edge gilt. Some very light fading to the spine and minor bumping to the corners of the binding but overall a better than very good copy.

Davis, 22.3.28" A very good copy in original grey canvas spine, lettered in black, with red paper covered boards with black lettering and illustration to the front board. Some loss to the paper on the boards, affecting 7 letters of the address at the bottom. Spine with just a little darkening. Overall a very good copy. Uncommon inscribed by Gill. --Evan Gill. One of 1000 sets printed on Japon vellum (The Apochrypha is one of 1250 copies) from a total edition of 1075 copies. The typography was arranged by Frances Meynell. Each volume decorated with copperplate engravings by Stephen Gooden, including the title pages. A lovely clean set finely bound in recent full black morocco, decorative gilt border to boards. Spines with raised bands, each with decorative gilt piping and ruling. Red title labels, gilt. Top edges gilt, others untrimmed. A beautiful set.

Fully illustrated with 24 wonderful full colour plates (XYZ appear together on one page) within a border and above a humourous verse, plus 2 double page decorative line drawings, printed in different shades of brown on parchment paper, for the endpapers. Colour pages are printed on one side only. A bright and clean copy throughout. Publishers original grey/dark green paper covered, bevelled edged, boards with lettering and illustration to the front board by Dulac, printed in Gold, white, orange and light green. Rear board with circular design printed in white, gold and green. Plain yellow cloth spine. Some minor marking to the spine but overall a lovely clean, tight, near fine copy. Among the artists best and most imaginative works, this title is also one of the scarcest books that he illustrated. Previous owners name on front free endpaper, otherwise a very good bright copy in the original illustrated dustwrapper. Some minor rubbing to corners and spine ends of wrapper, which has been price-clipped, but overall a very good copy. Albert is a plump friendly bear who lives in the east end of London. During his adventures he encounters typical east end characters including a rag-and -bone man and a Pearly King.:

Original dark green cloth front cover, showing Toad, Ratty and Mole, all in gilt, bound in at rear. ----- The thirty eighth edition overall, this is the first to feature the wonderful drawings by Shepard which haven't been out of print since. After his drawings for the A. A. Milne Pooh books, these are Shepard's most enduring, & endearing, illustrations.

Illustrated with 8 beautiful full page colour plates, each with a printed tissue guard, 104 line drawings throughout the text, plus illustrated endpapers at the front and back, all by Charles Robinson. Small bookseller label to the bottom of the front free endpaper. A fine and spotless copy of the book in publishers dark green cloth binding with gilt illustrations and lettering to the front board and spine. In the rare original illustrated dustwrapper, printed in red and green on beige paper. The red ink on the spine is faded and there are a couple of very small chips but overall this is a very smart example of the wrapper on a truly fine book. This first American edition uses sheets from the English edition, prnited by Ballantyne and Company in London. An uncommon survivor in such lovely condition.

Finely leather bound, for Sotheran's of Sackville Street, in half deep red morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe of London. Spine with raised bands. Compartments lettered and decorated in gilt. Red cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. A few faint marks to the cloth boards and minor rubbing to the extremities but overall a very good copy of this famous tale.

Most of the first printing of 1940 was destroyed by the bombing of the publishers warehouse during the Blitz.:

Complete set of this famous trilogy, with 80 fine hand-coloured, full page, aquatint plates, the colouring still strong and bright, by Thomas Rowlandson. Some minor spots of foxing to a few leaves in each volume but generally clean and bright copies in the scarce original publisher's brown cloth bindings, with gilt lettering and decoration on spines. Decorative blind stamped panels on boards. Original yellow coated endpapers. Previous owners bookplates to front paste downe endpapers. Some rubbing to top and tail of spines and fore-edges, and a couple of the hinges with neatly repaired splits (about 1.5 inches) but generally these are very good examples. Slight uniform fading to spines but overall a very attractive set of this classic work with Rowlandson's humourous plates. Uncommon in the publishers original decorative cloth bindings.:

Each tipped in and with a printed paper guard. Line drawings on each Act title page. A tight, crisp copy in publishers green cloth with bright gilt lettering to the spine. Front board lettered and elaborately illustrated in gilt. Plain white endpapers. Minor fading to the green cloth on the spine and small faint mark to the very bottom of the rear board but overall a very good, bright copy of this beautiful book.
