A member of the Democratic Party Elihu Emory Jackson (1837-1907) was the 41st Governor of Maryland. Jackson attended the ceremonies at Gettysburg Battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania dedicating regimental and battle monuments honoring engagements participated in by the Union Army as well as visiting Confederate States Army monuments. Jackson attempted to show equanimity towards both sides as different regiments of Maryland troops had fought on both sides of the conflict.

Softcovers, being a collection of 43 pamphlets with various paginations on subjects relating to Andrew Jackson's actions in regard to the Second Bank of the United States. The pamphlets where removed at some previous time from a larger collection of bound pamphlets with the expected stab marks and occasional remnants of a leather spine along the left edge. Two of the pamphlets originated in the 1st Session of the 22nd Congress of 1832. The remainder originated in the 1st Session of the 23rd Congress of 1834. The first 2 pamphlets are darkened. A few page corners are creased. Very good.
