Cloth split at the top half of the front spine edge, the hinges and the binding are secure. The text is comjplete, toning and some marking to the pages, browning to the plates. Possible connection to H. G. Wells., comes with a letter from the previous owner outlining a possible connection, with inscriptions and markings on the front endpapers. Original 19th century small booksellers label on the front endpaper (of Edward Howell, Liverpool), late 19th century owners stamp of W. Duarte on the front endpaper.
