Without names or bookplate. The original tissue dust jacket is held to the inside covers with a spot of adhesive to the front and rear flaps. Has some minor chipping along the upper and lower edges and a couple of small chips to the spine. Laid in loose is a four-page folded Calendrier des Enfants for 1937 which appears to also be illustrated by Rohankovsky although it is not signed. Also laid in loose is a folded Calendrier for 1938. This one is printed in black on a light blue background. Each of these additional pieces is in fine condition. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall .

There is also laid in a publisher's flier detailing the book. There are bumps to the upper, fore corners of the covers. All else is quite clean and tight. Very Good. 1937-38. Softcover. The archive includes eight typed, signed letters; two autograph letters, and one postcard. All in very good condition, showing only minor handling. There are no envelopes included. All are addressed to Samuel Marx of Samuel Goldwyn, Inc. And dated in 1937 & 1938. Lake was a writer, working primarily for various movie studios, and whose main interest was the old west. A good number of his story ideas, all set in the west, made it to the big screen. His most famous credits include Frontier Marshal, Wells Fargo, My Darling Clementine, Winchester '73, and The Westerner. He was also the author of Wyatt Earp, Frontier Marshal, the most famous, if not altogether factual, book published on Wyatt Earp. Samuel Marx was a very well-known story editor with MGM. He was also friends with Irving Thalberg and was somewhat embroiled in the Paul Bern/Jean Harlow scandal of 1932. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Signed by Author .
