Description:
The Blood of Roses by Tanith Lee Hardcover First Edition - First Printing London: Legend UK, 1990. (never released in the US) Signed and dated by the late Tanith Lee. Cover illustration by Jeff Willis.
Fine- in Fine Dust Jacket. A beautiful copy. The boards are clean, corners, straight, binding solid. The lettering on the spine is bright and clean (the scan doesn't do it justice.) The main shortcoming is some superficial soiling and a superficial damp stain to the bottom edge of the text block, not affecting the inner pages at all. For some reason, copies seem to be prone to soiling on the text block edge, a notorious problem for this edition.
Tanith Lee (1947-2015) may be the most underrated modern fantasy writer of the 20th and early 21st century. Her prose style reads like poetry and her themes were often mythological usually medieval in inspiration. Sadly Tanith Lee left us in 2015. Many of her early books had small print-runs, but quite a few have remained in print. Her first book was the Dragon… Read More

Description:
Farewell to Lankhmar (aka "The Knight and Knave of Swords", The Lankhmar/Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser series volume four) by Fritz Leiber Hardcover First White Wolf Edition - First Printing Clarkson, GA: White Wolf, 1998. Stunning jacket cover art by Mike Mignola. Black cloth boards, $21.99 cover price. Appears to have been issued in far fewer numbers than its predecessors "Ill Met in Lankhmar" and "Lean Times in Lankhmar".
Fine- in Near Fine Dust Jacket. Overall a nice smart copy with a few shortcomings, mainly remnants of a bookplate on the inner front board, tenderness to the lower front corner, and crinkling to the jacket mostly on the back and partially on the lower spine. Strangely doesn't show signs of reading wear but could have been better taken care of. Also, the last two volumes of the Lankhmar published by White Wolf appear to have been published in much smaller numbers in trade hardcover. Most fine copies are priced at $150, but I'm pricing mine at about half that because of the condition.… Read More

Description:
Gun, with Occasional Music by Jonathan Lethem Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Harcourt Brace 1994. author's first book. Fine in Fine- Dust Jacket with a price-clip. NOTE: The jacket is largely fine! The dust jacket art shows what appears to be a crinkling dust jacket, like you might find for hardboiled novels of the 1940's and 1950's. This is just for artistic-aesthetic visuals. The dust jacket itself does not have the wear-and-tear which is shown in the image.
Gun, with Occasional Music is a 1994 novel which blends science fiction and hardboiled detective fiction. It was nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Novel in 1994. The novel follows the adventures of Conrad Metcalf, a tough guy private detective and a wiseass, through a futuristic version of San Francisco and Oakland, California. Metcalf is hired by a man who claims that he's being framed for the murder of a prominent urologist. Metcalf quickly discovers that nobody wants the case solved: not the victim's ex-wife, not the police,… Read More

No preface and 2 pages of adds to the back. Includes 10 plate illustrations including a frontispiece flanking the title page. (The true first edition was published by Cassell in London and runs about $400 to $500.)Near Fine pages in Very Good binding. Generally a nice copy. The binding is solid, some fraying to upper and lower spine, most pages are very clear, one repaired tear to one page. A very nice presentation of Stevenson's period novel with political overtones. The Master of Ballantrae takes place in the 18th century and involves two Scottish brothers of the nobility during the mid-18th century uprising in Scotland.
