First edition, first printing by Nonesuch,in almost "As New" condition, of the story first published in Paris in 1678 . No other editions or printings are indicated on the copyright page. The only fault we found was some very ligt fading on the spine. The book is covered with a thin transluscent cover and a slip case. The slipcase has some wear. David's full page color illustrations - 10 plates - throughout the book. Translated from the French by H. Ashton.

Stated first edition. We assume there was a previous edition in Swedish. Translated from the Swedish by Arthur Chater. The book is in exceptionally fine condition. The only condition fault we found was miniscule wear at the top of the spine and top front cover corner. The thick, deckled pages are like new.

First edition of the story which was made into the famous musical, The King and I. D J is in poor condition but has managed to stay in one piece. On the book itsel only two faults could be found: The gilt marking on the spine is slightly faded, and there is a lard dark rectangular shadow on pages 168 and 169 - due to a section of newspaper that had been left in between the two pages.
