Contains 6 wonderful full page Victorian Chromolithographic pop-ups (Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots, There Was an Old Woman who lived in a shoe and Beauty and the Beast). In addition there are sepia line illustrations on all of the 21 pages of text. This book was printed in Bavaria, which was the centre of chromolithographic printing at this time and the quality of the chromolithographs confirms this. All of the pop-ups are original and are in perfect working condition. A few creases to some pop up edges. Book is very good with lightly marked/soiled boards. Fraying andmarking to boards. A thank you letter to the Drapers Company for the £50 received for the local church and charities. Brooke Lambert 1834-1901 was an English cleric and social reformer. He played significant roles in the Charity Organisation Society and the Metropolitan Association for Befriending Young Servants and as an ally of the settlement movement in London. Lambert was one of a small number of Church of England priests who worked in the most deprived areas of London, in the third quarter of the 19th century Size is 176mm x 115mm. Condition is good.
