Plates a bit foxed, light toning but very good, Presentation Copy, inscribed to Ricord on the title: "A mon illustre maître le Dr. Ricord hommage de respectueux dévouem[ent] L. Labbé" (inscription trimmed). Stamp of the Hôptal Cochin on the title and 2 or 3 other leaves. First Edition. Labbé and Coÿne's treatise on benign tumors of the breast studied the complete evolution of these tumors, giving more comprehensive results on their pathology than any other work of its time. .

Presentation Copy, inscribed to Ricord on the title: "A mon illustre maître le Dr. Ricord hommage de respectueux dévouement L Labbé." First Edition. Labbé was a surgeon at the Midi and several other Paris hospitals. His name is associated with Labbé's triangle—the zone of the anterior abdominal wall corresponding to the anterior face of the undistended stomach—and Labbé's operation for gastrostomy by incision of the chest wall along the lower edge of the last left rib. He and Guyon developed pre-anesthetic medication; see Garrison-Morton.com 5670. .

First Edition of Langenbeck's treatise on his method of removing bladder stones via perineal lithotomy, inscribed by celebrated neurosurgeon Harvey Cushing to Harold H. Gile, professor of urology at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. Langenbeck was professor of anatomy and surgery at Göttingen, where he founded a clinic for surgery and ophthalmology in 1807.
