Paperback. 72p., forward (sic), survey analysis, bibliography; softbound in 8.5x5.5 inch black wraps, a beat-up copy (as if carried in a back pocket), inked underlines and brackets in foreword. First issue of this revised edition: as is, dented & torn but readable. Author's note states his recent efforts have been "to improve upon the quality of information supplied." Black publishers and editors ignored his 1970 questionaires (mailed) so he had to depend on telephonic interviews which were liable to PR exaggeration. He subsequently encountered forceful charges of black on black racism. La Brie's note seems candidly honest. Originally published in 1970 as "The Black Press in America: a Guide," this an updated version.

Paris: Librairie Garnier Freres, no date, depression-era. cxxix, 368, 507p., unopened throughout, complete in the two parts. Sewn signatures in matching 9.5x6 inch buff wraps titled red and black. A bit "toned," spine panels browned and rubication faint, mild external edgewear, the first book has a quarter-inch tear in upper margin, a very good set. Chefs-d'oeuvre de la litterature.

Cape Town South Africa writer who was placed under house arrest for five years and left South Africa for London as an exile. A novel of the underground anti-apartheid movement; at least one of La Guma's friends died under police torture.

La Haye: Chez Jean van Duren, 1741. iv [Avertissement], 564p., rubricated title page, vignettes and tailpieces as called for, 9.6x7.8 inch textblock in 10x8.1 inch casebinding in full calf with raised bands, leather labels gilt with gilt panelling, all edges tinted red. A good, or at least presentable, copy, with these flaws: leather is covered with small abrasions, but the gilt lettering and rulings have been largely spared. The rear joint has split in several places, front hinge is cracked but holding (calf still whole), top edge tint is greyed, pastedown bears a small armorial bookplate (of one William Lygon Esq.). Endsheets slightly dust-soiled, paperstock faintly foxed throughout. "Tom. II," per spine label. An odd volume.

Softbound in 7.5x6.5 inch color pictorial wraps, one of a run limited to 1,000cc; cover yawns slightly (mainly from this cataloguer's thumbings, trying to figure it out) but else perfectly sound, clean and unmarked.

Austin, TX: Plain View Press, 1998. Paperback. 139p., wraps, 6x9 inches, very good condition. Signed by La Salle Caram and contributors Jacqueline Jaffe, Susan Lee, Stel DeLeón and Louinn Lota on the title page. Contributors are all women, some native Californians, two Filipina-Americans, one Mexican American, and one Venezuelan-American.
