Cautionary tales in verse for naughty young children. Covers and corners slightly worn, upper cover slightly rubbed, lower cover dusty and damp stained along lower edge, inner paper hinges neatly strengthened, tiny worm hole to lower margin of title page and next 3 leaves, occasional pale marks to margins, 3 upper margins faintly foxed, small closed tear to 1 lower margin. A good copy. Chromolitho frontispiece, title page and 21 very pretty chromolitho plates of young children all by Harriet M. Bennett. Numerous very pretty sepia text illustrations, some full page, also by her. Spine cloth slightly rubbed, corners very slightly worn, a few small light scratches to upper cover, lower cover a little dusty, free endpapers slightly browned, red ink inscription to front pastedown (see image), small split to endpaper fold at lower edge, half-title lightly foxed, some margins lightly marked or faintly foxed, otherwise contents very nice, 3 inner joints cracked, binding tight and sound.
