There is a little loss to the spine head and the upper hinge starting at 35mm from the the top. Light ageing to the title page otherwise exceptionally clean and bright throughout. Armorial bookplate to the front pastedown together with a book sellers label from Madeira.

Rutland, Vermont: Charles E.Tuttle, 1966 Reprint of the book first published at Kobe, Japan in 1928 in an edition of only around 300 copies. Mr Jonas was one of the pioneer Western collectors of netsuke and the first Westerner with the advantage of many years residence in Japan to publish a comprehensive book on the subject in English. 185pp illustrated in black and white.

Buckingham: Barracuda Books, 1983 Barnack is a small village in the valley of the Welland, 6 miles from Stamford. It is also one of those stone settlements, entitrely English in their ambience, with roots deep in the past. Of Barnack's houses, the greatest is Burghley, and perhaps the smallest, a seventeenth century dovecot. 88pp, illustrated in black and white.
