VG+ / VG+ 1959 Simon and Schuster, stated first printing. Hardcover. Very nice copy. Pages slightly tanned. Jacket is un-clipped. A bit out of character for MacDonald, sandwiching this romantic comedy in between 'The Executioners' (a.k.a. 'Cape Fear') and the Travis Mcgee series.

VG / VG. 1967 Doubleday, stated first edition. Hardcover with dust jacket. Book has a slight lean to the spine + a handwritten price on FFEP. Jacket has minor wear to edges and folds.

NF. 1966 Pocket Book 50218, 4th printing. Softcover. Tie-in with the Paul Newman, Lauren Bacall and Julie Harris film version directed by Jack Smight. Shouldn't Paul Newman's character be named Archer?...Yes it should. However, due to the success of 'The Hustler' and 'Hud', Paul Newman became superstitious about the letter "H" and wanted his films to feature it...so it changed to 'Harper'.

VG+ / VG. 1958 Knopf, stated first edition. Hardcover with dust jacket. Very nice copy of the seventh entry in the Lew Archer series. The only flaw is a 1/2" - 1" stain to the lower edge of the dust jacket, and because of the cover design, it is barely evident. Presents beautifully.

Near Fine. 2016 Petty Curse, first edition - Hardcover. Signed by Paul Madonna on rear end pages. Madonna is a well known illustrator in the Bay Area - his panel drawings "All Over Coffee" ran for many years in the San Francisco Chronicle.

Book has previous owner bookplate on inside cover. Otherwise nice. Jacket shows some rubbing / soiling to front cover + a 1/2" tear to top edge.

VG. 1959 Panther 997, first printing. Softcover. UK issue, released in conjunction with the Edward Dymtryk film version, starring Curt Jürgens and May Britt. Book shows some wear from use, but overall it's a nice copy.
