Exterior shows edge and corner bumps/wear in the bottom right corner of the spine has a small tear in the cloth. Rear board has a stain near the upper left corner. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light spotting and foxing present. Please note: this is an ex-library copy with the front pastedown containing a bookplate of the Methodist Home Library. The front end page states Asbury Home Library and there's a stamp on the front end page and rear pastedown as well.

Front end page shows an 1878 gift inscription written in pencil. On the page preceding the frontispiece there is evidence that a price was penciled in the corner and then erased. Foxing noted in exterior boards show wear with the back board upper corner being the worst. 2" tear found on 2nd to last free end page in the back of the book. See photos.

Boards show soiling & tanning. Signed on title page. Interior is clean and binding good. No remainder marks or handwriting in book. Our original store price was penciled inside front cover but has since been erased. Toning is noted on interior and exterior, mainly page edges. Some spotting/staining also noted, mainly on back cover.

London: David Nutt at the Sign of the Phoenix, 1910. First UK Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. This is the first London edition, published by David Nutt at the Sign of the Phoenix, Long Acre. These editions were notorious for losing the paper image on the front board, which is the case with this book as well. Exterior shows some scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge cracks found. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The only evidence of handwriting is on the front end page, where there is faint residue from where a price was once penciled and then later erased.

Boston, MA: John W. Luce & Company, 1916. Hardcover. Good-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover, paper covered boards in which the dust jacket is also the book exterior and is attached to the front and rear pastedowns. Title page shows 1911 publication date but copyright page states 1916. The attached but jacket shows chipping with the worst being on the spine edges and there is a large tear on the front. No handwriting or bookplates noted in book. Minor hinge pulling at page 17, which is where the play action begins. Book condition graded as good minus mainly due to the condition of the attached jacket. See photos.

Hardcovers, four volume matched set half bound black leather with marbled paper covered boards. This is the original unrestored condition. Black leather shows some minor scuffing along with edge and corner bumps/wear, marbled paper boards are toned and yellowed in spots with edge bumps and wear with the worst being the outside fore edges. The internal binding is excellent in the text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and there is scattered spotting present, though nothing severe. Books are tight like they were rarely read. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Hardcover, grayish green cloth boards with decoration on front, white text on spine. Exterior shows edge and corner bumps along with soiling and scuffing. Interior binding is good, no hinge issues other than a bit of pulling. Front end page shows original owner's name written in pencil. Pages are lightly toned due to age and some minor foxing is present. First edition thus with single date of 1913 appearing on the copyright page. The early 20th century book to mothers so they need teach their children basic sex education, using flower development as examples.

Hardcover, brown cloth boards, embossed on both sides and gilt text on spine. Exterior shows edge and corner bumps and board show rubbing/scuffing on all sides. Interior binding is overall in good shape, no hinge cracks at boards but the title/copyright page is separating at the top inch or so. Dark brown end pages and front and rear are clean though the front end page is a few small stain marks along the outside edge. Previous owners name is written on the second front end page. Paper is toned due to age and scattered spotting and foxing is present.

Hardcovers, complete two-volume set along with a little piece of ephemera. Both volumes contain spotting and scuffing along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Both spines have chipping along the top, with volume 1 being the worst. The cloth in volume 2 is a lighter shade and has more spots. The front end pages of both volumes contain a circular embossed stamp appears to read " Perkinpine & Higgins, Theological Miscellaneous & Sunday School Publishers & Booksellers" of Philadelphia. Both of these front end pages also contain the original owners signature written in pencil. Boards show edge fade and corner bumping, spotting on front. Front end page has a major of original owner: Mary McCoy. Pages are toned due to age but only has very minor foxing and spotting. Hinges are pulled in several areas but binding is still secure.

New York: The Platt & Munk Co., Inc., 1930. 1st Edition . Flexible leather. Very Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Lois L. Lenski. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ shows the date code of 30-08 on the front flap. Jacket is toned and scuffed, with numerous chips and tears (some of which measures several inches). Red cloth boards underneath are clean and the illustration strong. The only issue with the boards is some rubbing and bumping to the edges and corners. This is an ex library copy with the front pastedown and end page stamped stating Highlands School in Wilmington Delaware. There is also a faint stamp on the front of the dust jacket. The only other library markings found is also on the front pastedown, which contains a record of book loans to students, which was never filled out. Exterior shows spotting and soiling with some edge fading to both rear boards. Volume 1 also has some bubbling/wrinkling to the cloth. The internal binding of both volumes are good, no hinge issues. Paper is toned due to age and there is some scattered spotting and foxing present, though this is mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, no remainder marks. Note: the title pages both state the publisher as Hodder and Stoughton with a 1922 publication date but both paper labels on the spine, which are darkened and chipped, state George H Duran out of New York with the date of 1923. It is likely this is the 1922 printing but was distributed in the US through Duran. Volume 1 contains 212 pages, volume 2 contains 200 pages.

Exterior shows only minor edge wear, spine is slightly sunned and fraying at the bottom left corner. Interior binding is good and pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no school or library markings. The only handwriting found in book is on the front end page in the upper right corner where a price was once penciled and then erased. An attractive copy that with only minimal usage wear.

Exterior is still bright and shows only minor spotting and soiling. Paper label has a few foxing spots and a bit of chipping in the upper right corner, but is otherwise complete. Edges and corners show minor bumps/wear. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. The backside of the frontispiece has the original owner's signature and date, no other handwriting found. No bookplates, no library markings. His a few small splashes on the bottom of the exterior page edges but otherwise paper is clean with only minor toning. This is the first American edition, which was published the same year as the more common Dublin edition by Talbot Press.

Hardcover, original brown cloth shows scuffing and spotting along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The only evidence of handwriting found in the book is in the upper right corner of the front end page, where you can just barely see that a price was once penciled and then later erased. The interior binding is strong but there is some foxing and spotting present. The biggest issue being dampstains which first appear around page 103 and slowly increase in size until the last page.

Maroon cloth boards show handling wear, mainly along edges and corners. Light spotting is also present. The internal hinges are good at the boards but there are a couple spots at the text pages where there is a thin line of webbing showing (see photo). Pages are toned due to age and there is light scattered foxing and spotting present. No owner signatures or bookplates, no library markings present, no handwriting or underlining found.

Hardcover, Navy blue cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Exterior shows toning and spotting, spine is a bit faded. The internal binding of the text portion is good but the front hinge at board is starting to crack and rear board shows an old tape reinforcing repair and some pulling at the end pages. Pages are toned due to age but are clean, foldouts are present and attached. Only handwriting found in book is a small "Walden 1920" penned on the front end page. No other writing found, no bookplates, no library markings. The title page states first edition, third impression.

The book includes a two page typed letter (unsigned) from the actor and director Jasper Deeter to the editor of the Philadelphia Public Ledger, regarding this book. Dust jacket quite tattered with scuffing, soiling, chips and tears present. The underside of the jacket shows staining. Black cloth boards underneath shows some spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Internal binding has some issues: the front and page shows a faint indentation of a signature (it is unknown if this is Jasper Deeter's or not) and the rear hinge shows some cracking.
