Including Poems, an essay on the virtues of eating Fish, an article on Traveling Cooking Schools in Germany, Easter in England, Tempting Dishes for the Easter Table, plus early advertisements. Front and back cover soiled. Interior clean.

Charming advertising pamphlet establishing a connection between big business and the homemaker's new purchasing power. The solid yellow bar of soap first introduced in 1884 was one of the first packaged, branded soap used to clean clothes, dishes, and hair. Some light bleeding to illustrations, staple rust to spine.

Featuring recipes for tons of staple dishes and sides, New Modern Way of NESCO Electric Cooking primarily advertises the two models of NESCO Electric Casseroles and Roasters, some of the first crockpots to hit the market. They use the slogan "Come Out of the Kitchen", an appeal to women who are tired of long hours spent in the kitchen. They also have washing instructions, the aforementioned recipes, cook times for common foods, and further ads for accessories. In the back is a printed guarantee for one year without burn out, so long as the product is not submerged in water. A perfect gift for the crockpot cook in your life! Some small tears alone spine, images and text both clear and bright.

Know for their philanthropy and deep roots in the community during the mid 1900's until the mid 20th century. Filled with American staples along with a couple of "Old Recipes" such as Lemon Syllabub, Wine Possett, and Cowslip Wine. Owner's signature on front free end paper. Interior clean and crisp. Boards lightly rubbed at edges.

He is referring to recipes such as Camel-Stomach Stew, Tortoise Liver, and Monkey with Peanuts. On the other hand, from what we can see, since this copy is "unopened", this book is filled with beautiful illustrations. Clean, crisp copy.
