Soft cover. #14 of 100 of a total edition of 126 (26 lettered copies are for the author's use) signed by the Nobel Prize winning author. With a "Beginning with 'Bogart'" essay by George Gilpin, this is a facsimile of the manuscript of the story "Bogart" which was the first story written by Naipaul in his early twenties and included in the first book he wrote, Miguel Street, a story collection (although two other books were published before Miguel Street). The book is stapled oversized wraps with a mylar cover (as issued), in fine condition, and is signed by V. S. Naipaul on the limitation page at the rear. The 100 numbered copies were distributed to members of McFarlin Fellows, who contribute to funding acquisitions for the Special Collection of the Library. V. S. Naipaul's papers and manuscripts are a part of the holdings of the Special Collection at McFarlin Library.
