Printed by Wm. M. Cheney, engraving by Dan Taylor, and bound by Bela Blau. A bookseller for many years at Dawson's Bookshop, this small tome is a collection of his interpretation of the characters of Figueroa Street, published by the bookshop itself.

It was once more widely used, primarily by the islanders dealing regularly European and English speaking merchants.

All in all, a delightful copy of Newberry's book of instruction filled with many of her sketches and drawings.

Newberry's delightful story of the impossible task of choosing just one kitten was a Caldecott Honors winner.
