Edition Limited to an unstated number of copies, of which this is number 798, publisher's brown cloth with printed paper label mounted on upper board, octavo, pp. 65 plus Author Index and Title Index. FAIR condition only. Boards are soiled and worn at spine ends and tips. Inner hinges are cracked. A blank front endpaper may have been neatly excised. Most notably, previous owner made extensive notes and arithmetical calculations on the pastedowns and endpapers. Title page and front paper label also have markings. Some are pencil; some are ink. (See our image for an example.) Some notes provide an interesting glimpse into that time period: rent payment calculations, for example. We may be funny about things, but we consider the extraneous notes a bonus rather than a defect.

Edition limited to 750 copies, octavo, pp. 82 plus pp. [7] index. SIGNED by the author on the free front endpaper. Includes a generous 28-page section of black and white illustrations. Laid in is a small slip from what is assumed to be the publisher's secretary stating that a Mr. Aycock has ordered two autographed copies of the book. T. Brennan Bookseller has now acquired both those copies, which are nicely done-up in black pebbled leatherette with gilt spine and front cover lettering. A previous owner's small coding notation at bottom of last page, and light shelf and consultation wear, but generally Very Good and sound.

Publisher's illustrated stapled wrappers, pp. 79 + [1]. Many illustrations. About Very Good with just light shelf wear and a short neat slit to bottom of front panel at spine.

Flexible paper-covered boards with paper spine label affixed to a linen back-strip, octavo, pp. 56, 107. Boards and label with shelf rubbing and soiling. Random foxing. Some pages toned heavily to the shade of brown commonly seen in these publications. Parrish and Willingham, 4390, 4391. Please note that P & W 4390 was bound WITHOUT the final page of the index (i.e., wanting page 57).

Publisher's original maroon cloth with spine lettering gilt (now faded), octavo, pp. xvi, [1 leaf], 1-332. Small old Brisbane bookseller ticket at bottom edge of front paste down. GOOD condition with shelf wear at spine ends and board tips. Old off-setting on endpapers. Wanting the dust jacket.

Hardcover. First Athens edition, octavo, pp. xxx, 60. Minor shelf bump to upper front board tip, else very good in the publisher's red cloth with white spine lettering. Dust jacket very good and ensconced in a sheet of protective Brodart.

Publisher's stapled illustrated brown wrappers, octavo, pp. 44 + pp. 4 (2 leaves) Standard Oil lubrication and electric lighting unit specification charts. Illustrated with NC travel maps and points of interest vignettes. FAIR to GOOD, with a bit of time and consultation weariness, light page tip creasing, and the occasional nick at a page edge. Protected from further wear now by insertion into a new Ultra-pro sleeve.

Sixth Edition enlarged, octavo, pp. 52. Light toning, as common with this publisher, but easily very good in stapled blue photo-illustrated wrappers with red and black lettering within decorative red border. Ensconced in a clear protective display sleeve with white card-stock backing board.

Disbound, octavo, pp. 49. Tear to final leaf at bottom edge near spine with loss of corner, and spine area chipping up to center of that leaf. Small neat tear at fore-edge of final leaf, as well. No loss of text. Withal, Good with just light age-toning. Ensconced now in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board.

Second printing in the year of publication, teal cloth, octavo, pp. viii, 159. Upper board facsimile signature and wave decoration. Top edge blue. Fore-edge and bottom-edge rough-trimmed (deckle). GOOD with light shelf wear.

First edition, octavo, pp. ix, 388. Very good in the publisher's quarter red cloth over beige boards with silver spine lettering. Price-clipped dust jacket Good only with shelf wear at crown and foot of spine. Jacket now protected against further wear by a new sheet of archival mylar.

Hardcover, octavo, pp. ix, 114 plus index. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket.

Quarto, pp. xi, 214. Black and white illustrations, including frontis portrait of Philip IV of Spain by Diego de Velazquez. Separate Index of Symbols and Personifications. Very Good in the publisher's navy blue cloth with spine lettering gilt. Dust jacket Very Good and ensconced in a sheet of archival mylar.

Small old price-sticker shadow on free front endpaper but no stickiness or residue. A little luster lost over the decades through shelf and handling wear, but still GOOD, sound and serviceable. Dust jacket with light shelf wear at spine ends and flap fold points. Jacket now in protective Brodart.

Color-illustrated pictorial wrappers, small quarto, pp. [14]. Translated from the Russian by Valentina Jacque. Illustrated and designed by Liya Mayorova. Light wear and rubbing to wrappers and their edges. Spine ends and wrapper tips bumped mildly. Some foxing to page edges. Old price sticker removal shadow near top of front panel. The 7 pop-ups are bright and fully functional, in Very Good condition and without tears.
