O'Higgins, Paul or Pablo (Mexican, born USA, 1904-1983). UNTITLED DRAWING (TWO MEN). Watercolor on paper, not dated. Signed "Paul O'Higgins," lower right, so likely a work from his early days in Mexico, before he adopted the name "Pablo," by which he is best known. 21 x 16 3/4 inches (sheet). Framed to 28 3/4 x 24 1/4 inches. O'Higgins studied and worked with Diego Rivera, and was one of the founders of the Taller de Grafica Popular.

Folio, cloth covered box, with title and stylized Mickey Mouse figures on cover, containing the book, 4to., cloth, 160pp., text and 142 illustrations, 94 in color, describing and illustrating all of Oldenburg's multiples, and a multiple created especially for the city of Cincinnati (see the artist's statement about this work, below), consisting of a cast resin sculpture in the form of a bar of Ivory Soap, 7/16 x 4 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches, 1.1 x 12.1 x 7 cm., incised with the artist's initialed and numbered to correspond with each book. Oliveira, Nathan (American, 1928-2010). UNTITLED. Etching, 1960. Inscribed "for Emily and Wolf/Proof," and signed "N. Oliveira 60" all in pencil in the margin below the image. Printed in brown ink on antique laid paper with a unicorn watermark. 5 1/8 x 5 7/8 inches (plate), 11 1/2 x 15 1/8 inches (sheet). Provenance: estate of Wolf Kahn.The image puckered in the printing, else in very good condition. Wolf and Emily were Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason. Wolf Kahn taught at the University of California in 1960, where he and Emily Mason met and became friends with Oliveira, who, like them was both a practicing artist and a teacher. This is likely a gift from Oliveira to the Kahn's, and thus an interesting association piece between three artists. We don't know whether there was an edition of this print.
