Although titled volume 1, part 1, no further parts were published and this is complete in itself with an extensive index. Scarce, as few copies were printed owing to the declining membership of the Society at this time.

Oldham, Clegg,1906, first edition, pp.195, illustrated. Original cloth-backed boards with paper label. Spine faded, a little dusty, endpapers foxed, and several marginal pencil comments,but still a good, sound copy which belonged to Saddleworth historian A J Howcroft and has his signature.

Wigan, Starr, 1927 Limited edition, 1 of 500 copies, signed by the author. List of subscribers. Original cloth, spine faded and a little rubbed at head and tail, small patch of fading to back cover, but good, sound condition. Previously in the collection of local historian W J Smith with loosely inserted notes and cuttings, also two photographs he took of the plaster ceilings in Standish Hall in 1972 shortly before it was demolished.
