Description:
Sparkford: Haynes Publishing, 2019. The Lola T70 was one of the most prolific sports racing cars of the period from 1965-69, both nationally and internationally. John Surtees won the inaugural Can-Am Challenge Cup driving a Mk II version in 1966, while the final iteration of the T70, the coupé-bodied Mk IIIB has been described as the most beautiful sports racing car of all time. Driven by Mark Donohue and Chuck Parsons, a Penske Racing example of the Mk IIIB was victorious in the 1969 Daytona 24 Hours. In the British Sports Car Championship, Mk IIIGTs dominated, particularly in the hands of Denny Hulme in his Sid Taylor-entered car. Along with Hulme, other notable drivers of the day who enjoyed success behind the wheel of these V8-engined big bangers were David Hobbs, Brian Redman, Richard Attwood, David Piper and Hugh Dibley. Today, the T70 is still campaigned extensively in historic races by a variety of drivers with great success. This manual briefly explores the background to Lola Cars, and…

Description:
Sparkford: Haynes Publishing, 2017. The Jaguar D-Type is the iconic 1950s Jaguar sports racing car that won a hat-trick of Le Mans victories from 1955 to 1957. Revolutionary at the time, the D-Type was designed with aerodynamics in mind, and featured an aluminium monocoque cockpit section, a bag-type fuel tank in the tail, and a dry-sump engine lubrication system. The D-Type first appeared at Le Mans in 1954, finishing second. After winning in 1955 and 1956, D-Types took five of the top six places in 1957. Today, genuine D-Types are highly sought-after, and many examples are still active in historic racing. In February 2014, a 1955 D-Type, with race history, was sold for a record price of GBP2.7 million. This Manual includes numerous contemporary photographs, in addition to detailed images of various D-types in the workshop today, and input from restoration specialists and engineers. A fascinating insight into a legendary sports racing car.. 1st Edition. Hard Cover. New/Picture Boards. 4to - over…
