This is a handsome collection of three short novels by Charles Paul de Kock with many illustrations by prolific French artist Bertall. Charles Paul de Kock was a tremendously popular 19th century novelist whose low-brow literary style fell out of favor around the turn of the 20th century. His novels have been out of print by major publishers for over a century.
