Original green cloth decorated in gilt. Probably owned by Charles Hibbert Henry Williamson's father in law. The Hibbert's were a wealthy middle class family in Devon. Williamson' met his daughter Ida Loetitia at various hunting meets and fell in love From a large collection of Henry Williamson's and his family's books. Includes a specially commissioned small bookplate affixed inside the book confirming this. Book is good++ and quite bright. Re-cased retaining the spine and endpapers. Contents quite good. Eleanor Farjeopn has then further inscribed the book to another friend. Through Europe and the Balkans, The Record of a Motor Tour. The authors drive of 6,300 miles through Europe and the Balkans many years before motoring was common. The intrepid Vauxhall 20/60 was the car used by the explorers. Wonderful hand pained stunning and beautiful art deco fashion plates. The exclusive Art Déco journal "Les Idées Nouvelles de la Mode" was published by Joumard between 1922 and 1932 illustrating the height of French fashion at the time.
