A chapter on James Ross, another young Metis, is included. A copy of the original French edition, Louis fils des Prairies, is also available. The Ross chapter does not appear in the French version. The two would make an interesting pair for classroom use and for language study. Illustrations and cover design by Philippe Dupas, sketch maps by Real Berard, diagrams by Therese Aubin add to the instructional value.
