Limited numbered edition of 132 copies, of which this is n. 30 of the 15 copies on Hollande van Gelder paper, that together with 15 copies in Japan imperial, is illustrated with three etchings by Picasso: Portrait of Reverdy on frontispiece, present in all 132 editions, "Trois femmes à la Fontaine"- "Les baigneuses" only in the first 30 copies. In very good conditions with occasional spots.

Complete book with one lithograph in frontispiece, depicting the portrait of Fracoise Gilot fuse with the body of a dove bearing an olive brunch. The book also includes 29 reproductions of Picasso drawings on the theme of the peace, in full page with Eluard text on the bottom page. Complete with title page, and justification, one of 150 copies in Roman numbers, printed on Johannot pur fil paper (total edition 2250) Le visage de la paix was the last book of the collaboration between Picasso and Eluard, the poet died the year after the publication. Lithograph in very good condition. Spine weak with some splits inside between the text block, one reproduction with a stain on the page that doesn t affect the illustration. One of 50 copies (n. 24) on chiffon d'Arches paper, with one original lithograph by Matisse, depicting the portraits of Leautaud, signed and justified in pencil, printed in China paper. Matisse executed 5 portraits of Leautaud in charcoal and then 12 lithographs from which one serves as the frontispiece of the book. In very good condition, with some creases and slightly worn cover, especially at the spine.

La Magie Quotidienne. Picasso, Miró, Giacometti, Braque, Zao wou-ki. The complete portfolio, published by Louis Broder, Paris, 1968. The portfolio is one of the 15 copies numbered in Roman numbers, printed on Japan paper, from a total edition of 120. It includes six etchings, of which three in colors, two woodcuts, of which one in colors, and one lithograph in colors. Seven prints are signed in pencil, all nine prints are numbered VI/XV. The original prints are from the following artists: Jean Arp, Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti (two prints), Andre Masson, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Jacques Villon, Zao Wou-ki. The portfolio is complete as issued and guarded in the original linen box.

Loose as issued, complete of chemise and slipcase. One of 44 copies, from a total edition of 56 copies on Arches wove, signed and numbered in pencil by the artist and the publisher. The eight Pythian is the last classic illustrated by Picasso, after Ovid's Metamorphoses and Aristophane's Lysistrata. Pindar ode was presented in 446 BC in the honor of the winner of the wrestling competition at the Pythian game at Delphi. Picasso etchings illustrate three aspects of the athletic contest, described in Pindar's ode: A young athlete about to begin the match, the triumphant athlete radiating beauty and strength, and defeated athlete with folded arms and dark face. The dry point mounted on the cover can be reconfigured into an imaginary portrait of the poet. Ref Cramer 108 Very good conditions.

Alès, PAB, March 1967. Poems by Rene Char illustrated by Picasso with four cardboard-cuts in full page representing telluric masks. First edition, limited in 60 copies on Rive wove, signed in pencil by the artist and the author, of which this copy is one of the 50 numbered 22/50. Loose as issued, in chemise and slipcase. In very good conditions. Rene Char explain in his preface, that Transparents have disapperead from the villages and forestes where they used to be seen, affable and voluble, they would speack in verse to the inhabitants, during the time it took to put down their bags and then pick them up again. To illustrate the semi-solar vagabod creatures, of Char poems, Picasso made some cardboard cut-out in 1966, of telluric masks, which were printed, and four of them were retained for the book. The cardboard cut-out is a natural development of celluloid engraving. Ref: Cramer 138 Very Good conditions.

Paris, Éditions de l'atelier Crommelynck, 1971. La tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea, known as La Celestina, novel attributed to Fernando de Rojas published in 1499, illustrated by Picasso with 66 etchings with aquatints, dated in plate, between April 11 and August 19 1968, unsigned. The etchings done for la Celestine are part of the 347 series, Picasso worked to the etchings almost daily with Aldo and Pietro Crommelynck, at their atelier in Mougins, using different techniques. After the impressions were pulled, 66 etchings were chosen by Picasso to illustrate La Celestine. The character of La Celestine was first portrayed by Picasso on a painting in 1903. Limited numbered editions in 400 copies on Richard de Bas laid paper, watermarked La Celestine. Copy n 48 signed on justification page by Picasso in pencil. Bound in parchment board, protective jacket and slipcase. Ref: Cramer 149. Complete and in very good condition.

on Arches vellum, signed by Pierre Reverdy and Pablo Picaso: one of 20 out of commerce.
Despite their long relationship, "Les Chants des Morts" is the only illustrated book Picasso and renown art reviewer and publisher Tériade ever collaborated on. Pierre Reverdy finished a series of 43 poems titled Le Chant des Morts and Picasso illustrated his handwritten manuscript page by page in the manner of old illuminated manuscripts, adding another layer of artistic expression to Reverdy's somber poems.
