Montreal, Canada: Canadian Pacific, 1931. First Edition. Softcover. Near Fine. 4to 11" - 13" tall. Imagine preparing to take a "world cruise" that will span 128 days and visit 81 different ports . . . and in a ship that hadn't yet hit the water . . . In the 1930s, several cruise-ships were traveling globally, but Canadian Pacificâs Empress of Britain outshined them all in promise and potential. The Empress of Britain set new standards of efficiency and luxury. The itinerary is comprehensive: "sight-seeing, pleasure and education considerations have all been taken into account." The ship was to stay in many ports for days on end, giving the passengers a chance to really see the sites and learn from locals. 42,500 tons in weight, 758 feet in length, with luxury options including mail and cables, wireless and telephone, photography, a gift shop, laundry, and entertainment. This brochure was produced prior to the ship sitting water. The brochure was…
